Strong Growth: PI Group Expands Presence in Singapore

PI SEA, a subsidiary of the German based Physik Instrumente (PI) GmbH & Co. KG, has moved into a larger office with additional laboratory space in Singapore to further expand its activities in Asia and Australia. The specialist in nano-positioning, piezo technology and performance automation is a development partner for the world's leading equipment manufacturers and OEMs in semiconductor and photonics manufacturing as well as in electronics industries. Since 2020, PI SEA has tripled its sales.

"Asia is the region with the highest growth rates for the global high-tech industries," emphasized Markus Spanner, CEO of PI Group, at the official opening of the new office space in Singapore. "PI has been present in Asia since 1991 and we are strengthening innovation projects together with our customers with even more regional expertise."

“We are growing extremely fast since 2020," highlights Hsin Chia, Director of Sales of PI APAC. “We have started to support semiconductor front-end customers, expanded the semiconductor back-end business and provide photonics alignment and assembly solutions to key OEMs."

During the official opening ceremony, PI engineers from Germany and Israel presented basic innovations such as the Magnetic Levitation Drive, which offers numerous high-tech applications. A further innovation was presented which combines ACS controllers with artificial intelligence.

"Innovation is part of our corporate DNA," affirmed Markus Spanner, the second generation of his family to lead the company. "And with innovation and our increasing presence we will grow in Asia 50 to 100 percent by 2028.”
